Biography

William E. Flippin, Jr. is a distinguished American author, historian, and scholar whose work spans the realms of literature, theology, and civic engagement. Born on June 26, 1976, in Nashville, Tennessee, Flippin developed a lifelong passion for storytelling and history. His academic journey began with a degree in History from Morehouse College in Atlanta. He later earned master’s degrees in theology and church history from the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse School of Religion; Emory University's Candler School of Theology; and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Ashland Theological Seminary. Beyond his literary contributions, Flippin’s career has been shaped by his deep commitment to leadership development and community building Drawing from his experiences as a pastor, historian, and advocate for social change, Flippin’s work transcends traditional boundaries, offering a unique blend of historical insight and forward-thinking leadership. His voice continues to resonate through his books, public speaking engagements, and leadership initiatives, inspiring individuals to engage with history, faith, and the pursuit of a more just and equitable world. When he’s not writing or mentoring, Flippin enjoys live theater, baseball, and traveling by trains and cruises. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where he continues to influence and inspire readers, leaders, and thinkers alike.
