Biography

Steven Bloomfield has served at the hub of higher-education administration, community service, international affairs, and university-based advising and mentoring for nearly forty years. For a few decades at Harvard University and, most recently, at Brown University, Steve held various leadership positions that enabled his engagement in the enhancement of human and institutional development. Born in New York but mostly residing in New England, Steve has had the privilege of mission-oriented travel to many countries around the world, principally in the Americas, Asia, and Europe. He studied U.S. history in college and education in graduate school. For two years, he served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador. Steve believes that engagement in the practice of politics and in responsible political discourse must be infused with forward-looking humanitarian values for the advancement of all humankind and for the preservation of our Earth.
