Devon Myers
National Director of New Power
Dev was born in Aiken, South Carolina, and raised primarily in Augusta, Georgia. He got his start working in politics after graduating from Howard University when he moved to Atlanta, GA, and interned at a political fundraising firm that raised funds for Georgia state campaigns. He then returned to Washington, DC to earn a Master's degree in Public Administration from George Mason University, while also working for a company that provided year-round child development camps. Dev then taught at KIPP DC, where he earned the KIPP DC Teacher-to-Teacher of the Year award, became a mentor for the Black Male Mentorship program, and a recruiter for his school. After teaching, he became the Center Manager of the Benning Terrace and Benning Park Family Success Center, providing resources and services to families East of the River. He was then promoted to Chief of Staff of the same agency where he supported the day-to-day operations and Executive Director.
Currently, he is a member of the Voter Outreach Committee in the DC Democratic Party, as well as the Recording Secretary for the DC Young Democrats. He remains passionate about serving his community.
