Biography
As a certified Leadership and Transition Coach, Barbara works with people who want to navigate change, become more effective, and grow professionally and personally. She has a Masters degree in Organizational Development, a BA in English Literature, and a Leadership Coaching Certification. She began her career with service as a Peace Corps volunteer in India. Since then, her work has focused on organizational and leadership development in corporate and non-profit organizations. For more than 25 years, she has designed and facilitated workshops on change, resilience, and race, and, after 9/11, conducted multi-cultural community dialogues for over a decade. She has served as a member and president on the board of a national non-profit for women. Her current pro bono work includes Osher Life Long Learning Institute at American University, Halcyon’s Incubator Program, individuals in career transitions, and coaches in training.
Howard is a dedicated Real Estate Consultant for the Air Force's Department of Housing, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master's in Biblical and Theological Studies from Trevecca Nazarene, which has equipped him with a solid foundation for his professional and personal pursuits. In Washington, DC, Howard has immersed himself in community service, diligently working to strengthen ties and foster positive change. He passionately ensures equitable access to resources and advocates for equality and justice. His leadership roles include serving as a Board Member on the DC State Executive Committee, National Committeeman for DC Young Democrats, President of Capital Stonewall Democrats, and a newly elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, representing the voices of over 2,000 residents. Howard's tireless efforts exemplify his dedication to his community and the values he stands for.
